THERE IS ANOTHER ONE IN THE FIRE!

I have really enjoyed getting the opportunity to encourage, feed and clothe the homeless in Winston- Salem through my job at WSRM! Recently, I was able to help “Rescue” a young woman out of a terrible situation where she is now in a safe place with a new job!

As you can imagine, there are some pretty rough characters that come through the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, and recently one such rough character came through the food pantry to get some food. This guy had a huge burn on his leg and he said he had already been to the hospital for treatment and that it was in the process of healing. When I asked this young man what happened he proceeded to tell me about how he was trying to prove a point to someone and decided he was going to make a very vivid example and light himself on fire! It did not take long for him to realize this was a bad idea and the pain he experienced was absolutely the worst pain he had ever had in his life. Knowing from this story and some of the other things the young man said I could very clearly see he had an obsession with fire and I felt the Lord urge me to ask him if he had ever heard of the story of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego in the Bible. He had not heard the story before so I shared it with him, and proceeded to talk with him about how God is the CREATOR OF FIRE and as we can see from the story of the men in the fiery furnace God also is in control of the fire! We talked about how many people think fire is the devil's territory, yet it is actually just his future when he is thrown into the lake of fire. We discussed how the power and pain he felt from lighting himself on fire was merely a small taste and hard lesson about the power and also the mercy of God. He was very thankful for our conversation it was a very ordained God moment.

Please pray God would continue to soften the hearts of those coming through the food pantry and clothing closet and for them to know more about their purpose and destiny in Christ!
